Your First Visit

Your first visit with us will start with Dr. Smyk listening to you. You will tell her what is bothering you, hurting you and/or concerning you in your mouth. You will also discuss your medical history. Necessary radiographs will be taken. Dr. Smyk will then complete a thorough intra- and extra-oral examination including checking for periodontal disease, Temporomandibular  joint (TMJ) problems as well as oral cancer. She will then explain to you all her findings and her treatment recommendations. You will have the opportunity to ask any and all questions you may have. Together with Dr. Smyk, you will come up with a course of treatment that will be right for you. At times we will also clean your teeth or start other treatment. Hopefully, you will leave the office after that first visit with a thorough understanding of your oral health and the steps we will take to get you that beautiful healthy smile you want and deserve.

Your Child's First Visit

Your child's first visit will procede much like your own. Dr. Smyk will review your child's medical history with you. She will listen as you and your child tell her about any issues or concerns regarding your child's dental health. Your child will receive a complete examination, prophylaxis and fluoride treatment. Necessary radiographs will also be taken. A quick orthodontic evaluation will be completed. Dr Smyk will then discuss her findings with you and together you will decide the course of treatment that will be best suited to your child's dental needs.
